The problem we are trying to solve is how the CTA can improve it's transportation to benefit students. When students get out of school, there are so many waiting for the bus to take them home, yet there's only so many people the bus can hold, especially now with Covid-19. Many school districts do not think about the transportation for students when deciding bell schedule's. Bus transportation is also a factor in tardiness, kids who live far away have to drive at least 30-40 minutes to get to school and inaccurate bus arrival times have led people to arrive at their destination slower or later than usual. Because many schools do not think about transportation when deciding bell schedules, many schools start really early causing students with limited transportation to have to wake up really early. Due to arriving later than usual, some kids get home late. We also have homework to do so doing homework for mostly each class can cause us to also go to sleep late. Then we have to wake up early to catch the bus and sleep late because of getting home and doing homework which results in a change to students sleep schedules. These are all just some of the ways public transportation and its inaccessibility can negatively affect students.
