Mateo Murphy started this petition to Chicago Jesuit Academy Administration

1. Provide The CJA/Loyola extended community hoopers w/ a safe, competitive, organized environment to compete and enjoy

As someone who found passion for the game and started their journey of basketball at Chicago Jesuit Academy throughout Loyola, and still loves playing today, it brings me excitement to create an opportunity league for the many members in our community who feel the same and to have a place to compete with intensity during and beyond their years at these institutions.

2. Bring CJA/Loyola students, alum, parents, friends, family and administration together and foster relationship between those in it

The CJA and Loyola community already have profound ties and a relationship integral to the many students and alum lives' experience. Creating this league would provide an opportunity for members of the community to meet and connect and strengthen the relationship between members at every level of the respective institutions

3. Share, connect and reflect on the CJA & Loyola Academy experience- imagining and manifesting ways to make them better for future students

As a community that is made up of predominantly people of color, following/prior to the games members could engage in genuine and respectful conversation about their time and experiences at both CJA and Loyola Academy, any structural/social/racial issues they experienced, and ways that we can eradicate those experiences and make the community better for future students

4. maintain and expand CJA & Loyola Academy brother/sisterhood

maintain a safe place/space where league players and other members of the community can establish and maintain relationships during their time at CJA and Loyola, and after it has expended
