One of our sisters, a woman of color, received multiple racist remarks from our house mom Sheri. This sister was accused of theft, lying, and manipulation based solely on the color of her skin. She was then told by the house mom that she would be watched closely. This sister also shared that this was not the first time that this house mom has made racial remarks and that other sisters felt they had been discriminated against because of the color of their skin.

As sisters our job is to support each other and make sure each and every one of our voices is heard. During this state of racism in our country today we believe that it is extremely important to speak up about these issues. Everyone deserves a place in their community where they feel safe and included. As Chi Omega’s we believe in equality and will stand up for all sisters regardless of skin color, ethnicity, or anything else.

We want to implement this change so that all sisters present and future feel safe and are treated equally. As a Chi Omega by signing this petition we call for the removal of Sheri as it is the best the decision for this chapter and encourage Nationals to get involved in removing her from house mom position.
