Mr.Sweeney was “terminated” for an unfair reason. Isaac played a video that used some profane language that got reported to the administration of Manchester High school. This language was used in a poetry setting where the author spoke his literature aloud. What is the difference between this and the profane language used in the novel “To Kill A Mockingbird”? Along with this, Manchester High School played music with some of these exact “profane” words at the spring pep rally. Isaac Sweeney was not just another English teacher; Isaac was a great person who genuinely cared for his students and had in-depth discussions with any student about any topic brought up. While some of these topics could be controversial, a discussion is nothing without controversy and that is how he built the students ability to be better in discussions.
