In-Person attendance not mandatory during the time of Covid
Students are being declined the option to choose to shield themselves from situations in which they could come in contact with Covid -19.
Students are being forced through the threat that if their attendance falls below 75% there will be intervention. Yet not given the option to have an online alternative.
The uni disregards safety concerns from the students themselves, this features the overall health aspect of Covid 19 but also the mental health aspect.
If a student is paying for a course shouldn't they have some input into how the course benefits and works for them? when an online alternative inconveniences nobody and offers students who don't feel safe or have concerns ( mental health, immuno-compromisation, or other personal reasons) a means of interacting and participating with the lecture, why is the university neglecting and punishing these students?
The university is not listening, the departments are not listening and the students are not being heard.
