Local people living on Waterloo Road Haslington, Crewe and adjacent roads off, need to know that they can access their road with some peace of mind. There are homes which have no pavement and people/children could potentially walk straight into moving vehicles. We all take great care when leaving our homes but we cannot control someone who is driving in access of the 20 mph restriction placed on the roads. As the community who live here range from young families, elderly people, people with mobility difficulities to dog walkers and people walking for pleasure, it is importnant and worthwhile to raise this as an issue to Cheshire East Highways.

It would be helpful if the painted road sign (entering Waterloo Road from Crewe Road) indicating there is a 20 mph restriction all along this road and adjacent roads, could be repeated further along i.e. speed repeater signs on service provider poles  and free standing signs, what would be of emmense help are speed bumps. These would need to be put in place by Cheshire East Highways in order for them not to restrict anyones vision.

I care passionately about life and other's welfare and would be saddened to hear of a person/child/animal being injured or worse by a speeding vehicle and not having done something to try and prevent this happening. I have and many people have told me about near misses they have encountered on the road, but unfortunately there is no mechanism to report near misses.

What if nothing comes of this petition, then I know that I and people in the community raised it with Cheshire East Highways.
