Save the beautiful, 17th century, Nags Head public house in Haughton, Cheshire

The Nags Head is a 300 year old (c.1680) grade II listed public house which has, for centuries, served the local community and beyond with welcomes, ales, meals and a centre for village life and community spirit. It has survived world wars, economic turmoils,  not to mention the "gastropub" phenomenon and the odd global pandemic or two. It deserves to continue to survive and outlive it's patrons.

Regrettably this beautiful Inn closed it's doors in January of this year and an application has now been made to develop the Tudor building and it's site into 7 residential dwellings.

Such a development would remove the last remaining community asset from the rural village of Haughton seeing the end of a pub that has thrived throughout hundreds of years and can absolutely continue to thrive for hundreds more. Its loss would be a loss at the very heart of the community within which it stands.

Please sign this petition if you wish to support us objecting to this development. Let's do our best to ensure it's not yet time ladies and gentlemen please at the Nags.
