Protect Disley’s Green Belt.

Cheshire East  Council are planning to remove the Green Belt status from the land off Jackson’s Edge Road and Lymewood Drive adjacent to Disley Amalgamated Sports Club.

A developer is proposing to build 73 new homes on this designated Green Belt area and plans to start work immediately.

This will impact on the congested A6 and contribute even more to the existing  dangerous air quality levels in the village. There we’ll be more congestion and impact on health.

The area is home to a wide range of local wildlife and plans will involve the removal of a significant amount of trees. We want to protect our countryside.

Disley has already been affected by a significant development at Waters Edge. We believe that there are a wide number of brown sites within Cheshire East that could be developed as an alternative and that’s Disley’s village character should be protected.

We have until the end of the month to Save Disley’s Green Belt.
