Teenager Charlie Jenkins has not been to school since September -

The autistic 13-year-old - who has ADHD and OCD - was pulled out of a special needs school  by his mum at the end of the last academic year after being suspended for behavioural issues up to five times.

But Charlie's attempts to join three other schools have since been rejected and he remains at home.

Mum Olivia Jenkins, who now lives in Crewe, said: “Charlie started school  in September 2015 at the age of 11 and the problems first started happening in December that year. I knew something was wrong because of his behaviour and he was very agitated.“It got progressively worse and he was suspended four or five times for violence and running off from school which I challenged.

his mum said

“It was not that he had been violent. It is traits that come with his ADHD, autism and OCD and I had issues with the school regarding this.”

“I have to think of my son. I don’t mind him being at home but what I do mind is him getting no education

Kevin Healey National Autism campaigner said

"the council have a duty to have him in education, and for him to be out of school for months now is just appalling I'm shocked this is actually happening in the 21st century"
