There are lakhs of people living in chennai and many travel through their personal vehicles to their concerned workplaces or colleges, but when there's is a red signal nobody cares to stop at the at the stop line  and prefer to stand on the pedestrian crossing (zebra crossing) or beyond it making it difficult for pedestrians to cross to the other part of the road

The other problem pedestrians face is that , though there are plenty of footpaths been constructed and present in all the sides of the roads , people either open shops over there or park their vehicles on top of it forcing pedestrians to walk on roads and increasing the amount of accidents cased to pedestrians
