I too believe people should be able to have backyard chickens.
It is unacceptable for any government organization to take someone's hens.

Because chickens are cute and they don’t bother anyone. My neighbors in another state had some and they actually controlled the bugs in the area. Don’t you have better things to enforce, like wearing a mask to save lives?

I hope this family is successful in keeping their chickens. We need to educate people on the benefits of keeping hens. There is a stigma that they are dirty, smell and carry diseases. That would be true of any animal/pet if you didn’t take care of it properly. Chickens are amazing creature and have so many benefits, including providing families with an activity they can do together, fresh eggs, insect control, entertainment (chickens are hilarious). How many people get bitten by dogs and how many feral cats are running around neighborhood? Chickens are much less work and should be allowed on anyone’s property.

I hope you keep your chickens. Eggs from backyard hens contain significantly more nutrients than factory farm eggs, boasting 25 percent more vitamin E, 1/3 more vitamin A, and 75% more beta carotene. Not to mention more omega-3 fatty acids than factory farmed eggs. Chickens are important for feeding families.

I’m signing this partition because we live in America, which is the land of the free. If this family wants to raise hens, chickens, or even roosters in their yard then they should be allowed to. I’m sure they pay taxes on their land and should be allowed to do what they’d like to do with their land, as long as it doesn’t cause physical harm to another. The government has too many regulations and restrictions on what citizens of America can or can’t do.
I wish you well on this journey.
