Dear Governor Baker,
The end of the institution, maintenance, and administration of government, is to secure the existence of the body politic, to protect it, and to furnish the individuals who compose it with the power of enjoying in safety and tranquility their natural rights, and the blessings of life: and whenever these great objects are not obtained, the people have a right to alter the government, and to take measures necessary for their safety, prosperity and happiness.
Following the extension of your unconstitutional lock-down, the time has come for Massachusetts to reopen. Your actions have altered the lives of everyday hard working constituents. Hundreds of thousands of jobs lost, an increase in government spending, and a suspension of our individual liberties leave us no choice but to order you to eliminate the lock-down or step down as the Governor of Massachusetts.
When tyranny becomes law it is the duty of the people to defend their God-given rights and alter their government. The first paragraph of this petition comes directly from the Massachusetts Declaration of rights, and gives we the people the power to do what is necessary to defend our liberty.
We want peace, we want civility, we want freedom. God has given us these rights, not you, and they are certainly not yours to take. We pray together that you hear our call for liberty and shall look to God to give you strength.
