Many menstruators in the world are not able to afford the cost of period products. Menstruators spend about $2,000 on period products in a lifetime. About 64% have problems affording these products. Period products are not a “luxury” item, they are a necessity and we need to make them free for everyone. For many people, pads/tampons are the last thing they pay for. Also, countless times, periods get in the way of going to school, work, and other important things due to the lack of access to pads and tampons. Not to mention when you experience an unexpected period, it ruins underwear and sometimes pants.When schools provided free menstrual products there was a 2.4% increase in attendance so imagine what it would be like if everybody had access to free period products. We will start with Massachusetts, maybe we can do this for the world.
