In Queensland, Forest Lake’s centrepiece lake was once a beautiful place to gather with family and friends, to ride bikes, walk, for children to play in playgrounds, all whilst enjoying the spectacular view and precious wildlife.  

The condition of the main lake and all connecting lake areas is appalling.  Countless attempts have been made over the past decade to address the issues with council, however, the lake returns to a shameful condition each and every time.  The lake is negatively impacting our community.  

November 2018, the petition to “Save Our Lake @ Forest Lake” increased awareness and raised media interest.  January 2019,  a number of local residents formed a group called LAG, Lake Action Group.  LAG are actively researching, contacting experts in the field of lake restoration, communicating with council and encouraging community involvement.  LAG are dedicated and determined to find a long term solution to save the lake.
