Please sign this petition to support a shared street design for Charles Street on historic Beacon Hill that accommodates all modes of transportation, with a lowered 15 MPH speed limit, and without a dedicated bike lane.  The safety of all who use our streets is paramount, however, dedicated bike lanes have proven to be underutilized and detrimental to small, independent businesses.  We believe all travel lanes should accommodate multi-modal transportation.  

We are neighbors, businesses, and visitors who are advocating to maintain a safe and vibrant business and residential community in historic Beacon Hill.  We seek creative and measured solutions that do not simply replicate changes made in other neighborhoods that have yielded suboptimal outcomes.

We welcome all modes of transportation and look forward to a comprehensive and inclusive process concerning any proposed design change to Charles Street.
