Honorable Governor Haslam,

We, the undersigned contributors and beloved fans of the University of Tennessee Football Program, have composed this letter to express our dissatisfaction with the current athletic administration.

This letter is an expression of our desire to request a “Vote of No Confidence” in Mr. John Currie, Athletic Director, and Beverly Davenport, Chancellor, of the University.  We understand the severity of this decision and did not arrive at it hastily.

Tennessee has always been a proud community of students, athletes, and fans. One of where donations, contributions, and reputation were made on a collaborative basis with the best interest of our program in mind.  The University of Tennessee has always been a school that experienced great vision from our student, athletes, faculty, and administration of which were given the respect and our support to achieve an acceptable level of goals.

Throughout the past decade we have had concerns regarding the operation of the University's athletic program, leadership specifically regarding trust, collaboration, decision making, vision, lack of respect and knowledge for its fan base and reasonable communication. We believe that Mr. Currie and Mrs. Davenport have failed to abide by the mission of the athletic programs.

The more recent of actions by the athletic administration has created a toxic environment for students, alumni, athletes, and the community.  Without the true recognition of mistakes or the willingness to listen to the community which contributes millions of dollars each year to the University athletic programs.

We feel this lack of attention to, preparation for, or appropriate prioritizing of, the athletic standards of the University's football program, as well as a failure to recognize and respect the expertise of other and more qualified professionals in the program.

We feel this ineptitude in application of rules and an ongoing lack of awareness toward athletic achievements is incapable of being run successful in its current state.  The failure to follow through or a total disregard for the ideas of many; when communication occurs, it has too often been delayed and lacking competency. This has lead to an overall sense of loss and distain for operations by the current Athletic Director and Chancellor. The moral is just too low and we feel it is time for a change.

For these reasons stated, we the undersigned are voting “No Confidence” in Mr. John Currie and Mrs. Beverly Davenport and hope and believe that you as a leader and role model with the Board of Trustees will make the right decision and chose what is in the best for our University, athletes, and football program.
