Please reduce generator noise from Nationals Ballpark

This petition had 52 supporters

Councilmember Allen,

We the undersigned respectfully request that City Council work with the Nationals baseball stadium to find a permanent solution to the excessive and invasive air conditioner/generator buzzing emitted from Nationals ballpark.
We live by the stadium and have tried to work directly with Nationals management since 2014 to reduce the constant, loud generator buzzing. There is noise pollution from the ballpark 24/7, weekdays and weekends, from first thing in the morning until late at night. The buzzing is louder than 65 decibels on average. It does not matter whether there is a game or not.
The ballpark's generator noise is having a direct and negative impact on our neighborhood. It limits the quiet enjoyment of our homes, even our ability to sleep or work in our own homes, because the noise is loud enough to penetrate our walls. It also negatively impacts our summertime outside, because the buzzing dominates, whether on a front porch or a back patio area.  Here are three additional examples:

4:19 a.m. Tuesday June 20

9:18 p.m. Saturday June 17, no baseball game

Nationals ballpark buzzing off street, behind community

We are Nationals fans and know the organization wants to be a good neighbor. We hope with this petition and your attention to this matter it may finally be resolved. Sincerely,
Your Southwest DC constituents and concerned neighbors
