Bring Hybrid Instruction Back to Chapman
Bring Hybrid Instruction Back to Chapman
The COVID-19 pandemic is still causing illness worldwide and Chapman is not immune. Their decision to offer only in-person instruction this semester is dangerous and irresponsible, especially given the hundreds of students who have tested positive just within the first week of classes. The spread of this disease is not slowing down, and the fear and tension on campus felt by students and faculty should not be ignored. I have already reached out to the administration urging them to reconsider hybrid instruction and received a disappointingly tepid response that did not give me any faith in my message being considered. I know that many of you are frustrated with Chapman and their response to COVID — maybe they will reconsider their approach if enough people make their opinions heard! Help me bring hybrid instruction back to Chapman for students and faculty who are immunocompromised, in consistent contact with vulnerable people, or just feel unsafe on campus. The only way to reduce the spread of COVID is to stay vigilant and cautious, and to look at (and pay attention to) the facts, but Chapman is failing to do this. Sign this petition to let Chapman know that they need to do better for their community.
