UK 2017 General Election TV Debates to go ahead
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
The political editor of Channel 4 news announced that Downing Street "has already squashed the idea of any TV debates ahead of the 8 June election". TV debates play a valuable part to our democracy, allowing party leaders to present their manifestos to the public, and to be held accountable. The electorate have the right to hold politicians accountable and hear their views on an unbiased media platform which TV debates allow for. We're asking the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky to NOT be scared by Downing Street's statement and to carry on holding General Election Debates like they have done since 2010 and like many other Democracies around the world do. Just because one party decides not to turn up, does NOT mean the show should be cancelled.
