Over the past few days a screenshot has been finding its way across social media platforms where Mr. Ballentine, chillicothe middle schools principal, states “It is scheduled for Saturday May 14.”(regarding the schools spring semi-formal dance)

However, this same date the select choir and both 7th and 8th grade orchestra are supposed to go to kings island to participate in a performance. Afterwards, the group of around 100 kids is supposed to enjoy their day at the park. With time for performing, having fun, eating, and the long drive home, it would be almost impossible for all of those kids to make it back in time to prepare and get to the dance on time/ at all. 

Additionally, many kids (especially girls) have already bought expensive attire for the dance and it would not be fair to ask them to waste all of that money spent. They also would be letting down some formal dates in which have been planning for months.

In conclusion, we should change the date to Friday, the 13th. To ensure the biggest turn-up and an amazing night.
