We have contacted the Jefferson county Humane Society numerous times about our neighbors cats that they threw out. One of the cats a 2 yo male named Simon was actually adopted from them. There were two young Females who coincidentally ended up pregnant also thrown out by them. And a little Black 6 week old Kitten. So a total of 4 cats to start. When we called the JCHS for help they told me to call my local humane officer because I live in the city. After contacting the city officer, he informed me that he does not handle cats at all and if he did he would be taking them out to the JCHS shelter, he also informed me that they always have people call him when they do not want to help or be bothered. We’ll needless to say I finally got ahold of the JCHS and they said they would put me on a list and mark me as urgent. So after a month of waiting I called to see where I was on the list, and the one momma cat and the black kitten had disappeared. The other female ended up having 5 little fluffs on my back porch. I asked them where I was on the list and they said they would move me up and make it very urgent. It has now been another month and still haven’t heard from them. They are very rude, half the time they do not answer the phones or return phone calls. For a charity that is supposed to be a voice and savior/fighter for all animals. They really drop the ball. And I am not the first person this has or is happened to. They need new management and training. This is so frustrating and honestly breaks my heart for these cats. Help us help the animals and sign to get better help for all animals in our county. Thank you!
