Subject - Request for changing the transport time for KG students

Dear Sir/Madam,

We, parents of KG, 1st and 2nd grade students studying in DMIS have a very important concern to address the Principal and Management of the school.

Grades students         Timings                                 Dispersal for Own Transport

KG1 and KG2               8:40 a.m. – 12:50 p.m.        12:50 - 01: 05 PM

Gr.1 and 2                    8:40 a.m. – 12:50 p.m.        01:05 – 1: 15 PM

1 to 12                         8:40 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.            01:15 – 1 :25 PM

The above is the schedule for the month of Ramadhan issued by the school. Later, the timings for the KG students were changed from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. And the school transport leaves from school between 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm. The school transport has been arranged in a way to meet the pickup and drop time for kids across all the grades. So, the younger students of KG to Grade 2 who leave at 12:30 p.m. must wait till 1:30 pm to cope up with the timing of grade 1-12. Also, as the bus accommodates more students there are frequent stops all the way and the child reaches home by 2:45 pm to 3:00 pm.

I completely understand that it must be difficult for the school to manage the transport hours during the month of Ramadhan, however, we think its not fair on the part of the younger students to bear 3 hours after school just to wait for the bus. Additionally, the transport fees for the DMIS school are much higher as compared to other schools, we can expect the school to be reasonable and meet the needs of children across different grades.

Moreover, school must understand that its just the beginning of KG students school life, these kids are under a lot of pressure to adjust with the new environment, new place, and new people. Post school hours they are hungry, sleepy, may urgently need washroom, and many more such things. Most importantly, the climate is getting hotter day by day and these small kids can get dehydrated. The school is not providing drinking water due to COVID, and the children can carry a small 500ml to 750 ml water bottle only. Is this small amount of water sufficient for 6-7 hours? Also, some children fear to drink more water as they may need to use washroom.

Above, all we would like to ask the Principal and Management, is it even fair for such young students to suffer 3 hours post school time to reach home?

In conclusion, we request the school to arrange separate transport for those students leaving at 12:30 pm in order for them to avoid any unseen casualty.

Regards,

Parents of KG/1st and 2nd Grades
