I am raising awareness for those who have received internet based or electronic domestic abuse. This type of abuse is not limited to females ( presenting/ those with a female sex at birth) although, it is more likely to be reported by them.

The law says "innocent until proven guilty" if you are accused of a crime, which is entirely correct.

However, if you are a victim of crime, it seems to be "guilty until proven innocent" and this is how so many reported crimes lead to bad outcomes for the genuine victim (an example being the low conviction rates for Rape - https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/an-overview-of-sexual-offending-in-england-and-wales 

The law needs to change to recognise that internet-based crime is as legitimate as physical crime, and also to do more to support victims of crime (who have suffered a crime and should not have to repeatedly fight to prove this or face inequality by the very organisations that should be helping them).

Legal Aid is currently assigned to victims of Domestic Abuse but it is unclear as to whether or not that applies to internet based abuse.

If you are a victim of fraud, identity theft or domestic abuse, you have no money to take legal action. Thus, I am calling for a review of Legal Aid policies to support victims or those wrongly accused.
