Change the Zoning Rules: Block Industrial-scale Mining in The Town of Livingston

This petition had 166 supporters

The Town of Livingston’s zoning rules currently allow mining operators to establish new mines in low-density residential neighborhoods by obtaining a “special use” permit.

We are a coalition of residents from the town of Livingston, who want to preserve the beauty and rural character of Livingston.  We support the Livingston Town Board’s proposal to change the current zoning rules to limit future mining to commercial (C-1) zones and block mining companies from establishing industrial-scale operations in our residential hamlets and neighborhoods.
