Change the Videoke Ordinance

Change the Videoke Ordinance
Why this petition matters

We are concerned mothers and citizens of Quezon City. We are starting a petition to change the public disturbance ordinance since a vague section pertaining to videoke use has been disrupting our children's studies, our own working environment (those who work from home and/or working at night), and rest and peace of mind.
As per Ordinance SP 2975 Section 2.a.:
Public disturbance noises - refers to the emission of loud, excessive disturbing and unhealthy sound, amplification, beyond human tolerance emanating from sound amplification devices or equipment and/or other sources of sounds such as but not limited to commercial, industrial and construction activities, vehicle exhaust, mufflers, animal noise and noise produced by human being such as loud conversations, laughter, found to exceed normal allowable decibel ratio.
As working mothers, some of us have had to work at night and our rest time has been disrupted by noisy, loud, boisterous videoke operators because a bill says they can use their machines until 10 pm.
To quote Ms. Ruby Palma, (the) “proliferation of videoke business gave rise to serious neighborhood quarrels,” and has “compromised the resting time especially of children, pregnant women and the elderly.”
We would like your help in getting signatures to help working parents, children, and our elders get the rest they deserve and need and to make arbitrary laws more succinct and valid.
