Change the University of Toledo's Mascot to Shrek the Ogre.
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
On April 24, 2018, at 11:22 AM, the University of Toledo (@UToledo) tweeted, "If this gets 500k retweets we'll change our mascot to Shrek." The tweet received nearly one-fifth of its goal before the University removed it. This petition is to show continued support for such a unique and powerful opportunity in spite of the actions of the University of Toledo.
Rocky and Rocksy, I love you both dearly, but it's 2018: times are changing and Shrek and Fiona are the mascots that the University of Toledo needs. A mascot is something that should bring good luck while symbolizing a certain organization and Shrek is just that: a cultural icon that brings joy to millions of people, showing them that it's not always what's on the outside that defines someone.
Should this petition reach the original goal of 500k retweets in the form of signatures, I urge the administration to take a more serious look at the power social that media holds and take action on its original promise.
