When Covid19 hit, it has caused an issue in the food service industry.  This has led food service workers to be essential but undervalued.  This has already put a strain on a business industry that is relying on an outdated law from 1917.  This law stated that any food service worker, was to have $20 per month in tips to be tax free.  Now back in that day $20 is equal to $450 dollars in today's current value. Money that is rightfully the employee's earnings from that shift. 

The law was amended around 70's or 80's to include delivery drivers, but never did raise the standard to make the tips match inflation.  What is recommended is for the law to raise the limit from the current $30 to $700 a month and instep with inflation.  If this gets signed and approved not only this should help those in the food service industry, but also will assist in our current economic impact.  

This issue is an urgent matter for the food service industry, for the workers that can barely pay rent, but also for those who are essential to our economy to do the job that needed to be done.  This also goes for the delivery drivers, those who use their cars to help with our piece of mind that people are able to enjoy the few comforts they have.  If the economy is going to a direction where it won't recognize its current Delima then there will not be any more delivery drivers or other staff to help this industry.  Don't they deserve that amount of respect?
