"Baby Shark" has gained notoriety for being a catchy tune for toddlers to stay focused, to the point where the video has amassed over 2.3 Billion views.

You'd think that "Baby Shark" would only stay in the masses of grade school and toddlers. Not until February 4th, 2019, when the "Tardy-Sweeps™" began at Hernando Middle School, that "song" aimed towards toddlers and infants, began its catchy tunes throughout the intercoms of the halls.

The "song" began tormenting the campus, causing teachers to raise voices over the intercom, becoming irritated, especially during instructional time, having students rushing to their classes, with some dancing along to the "song" in the hallways, causing a torment to students caught in the "sweep".

This has to stop.

Fortunately, administration at Hernando have issued detention, and, to a much higher extent, discipline referrals to the affected students caught in the "sweep". But yet, multiple students still can't seem to get it. We soon found out that it was the song that had the students ending up with a disciplinary consequence.

That is why we are here. To petition to change the song.

"Baby Shark" may be hours, even days of entertainment for a toddler, but in a middle school environment, it can get annoying, and can get in the way during instructional time.

We need a more "mature", "simplistic" song that can get the point across easily. That says we are under a "Tardy-Sweep™", that doesn't annoy teachers and students that are here to learn.

We are petitioning the administration team at Hernando Middle to change the song for the "Tardy-Sweeps™" to a song that can fit a "mature" middle school setting.

Thank you for supporting a more mature school, and a better choice for everyone's sanity!
