As a parent of a school age child, my 9 year old was bullied by a substitute teacher. My son was upset and sad that the teacher was bullying him.The Teacher made my son miss recess, pick up other peers's trash, unstacking all the chairs and cleaning all the tables by him self.  Last year my son was disrespected by yet another teacher who yelled the "F" word to him when he was 8 years old and also the teacher slammed a book on a little girl's desk, and started to cry. He also told another little to shut up . As a mother and a toddler teacher  it is not right for children for any age to have to go through this at any of our schools. Last year my son was afraid to go back to his school because he did not want to see that substitute teacher. It took him 3 weeks before he felt safe in his school. He told me he wanted to go to a different school. School should be a safe place for children to learn and to have fun with their peers. The principals can only do so much but we the parents can do this and try to change the standards for  substitute teachers to have more experience and education.
