I am a sophomore at Texas Tech University, I have recently become handicapped due to an accident. As I tried to navigate my university, I have found it to be increasingly hard to get around campus and succeed in my classes. my own dorm room doesn't have many handicapped doors, not enough handicapped parking places, and not enough ramps. Above all I was told that Texas Tech parking services won't allow me to register my girlfriends car for the handicap parking permit. I also have a government issued handicap placard. they claim there is too much fraud even though I am in the one in need and they said that they can't help me. They said I can only putting my parking permit on my car. this is not helpful in the slightest being that I need handicapped parking because I can't walk WHICH MEANS I CANNOT DRIVE. I am forced to walk about a mile or two everyday on my crutches just to show up to class which is extremely hard. help me get the attention of Texas Tech parking service to change their rules to help me and other people with this issue be able to do the bare minimum and get to class.
