School schedules impact students in many ways, both negatively and positively. The RHS school schedule is a schedule that could be improved to have much more positives than negatives. Currently, students only have 4 classes that last 80 minutes long, which doesn't allow students to utilize the school time to maximize their learning. What can be done to change this is to shorten the class times and add a 5th period which would allow students to explore more topics and for teachers to teach more topics that interest them. Those who can change the schedule are the School Committee members and the new Principal Mr. Bowen. A shortening of the class schedule would provide many benefits to students and teachers alike as they would be able to explore more topics and build new relationships.
