As so many cubans and other immigrants from all over the world trying to reunited their family to USA, we are struggling with the fact that IR5 visa category doesn’t have any derivatives allowed, in my case it means that my mom will come to USA to be with me but she will have to leave my minor brother behind, and for me, it makes no sense, if I file a family petition for my sister she will be able to immigrate with her husband and son, but my mom is not allowed to bring my minor brother with her, it needs to be changed, IR5 visa beneficiaries should be allowed to bring minor childs with them.

Como tantos cubanos y otros inmigrantes de todo el mundo que intentan reunir a su familia en EE. UU., estamos luchando con el hecho de que la categoría de visa IR5 no permite ningún derivado, en mi caso significa que mi mamá vendrá a EE. UU a  estar conmigo pero tendrá que dejar atrás a mi hermano menor, y para mí no tiene sentido, si presento una petición familiar para mi hermana, ella podrá emigrar con su esposo y su hijo, pero a mi mamá no  le permiten traer a mi hermano menor con ella, debe cambiarse, los beneficiarios de la visa IR5 deben poder traer niños menores con ellos.
