Change the NFL's "Leaping Rule" Name to "The Bates Rule"

Change the NFL's "Leaping Rule" Name to "The Bates Rule"
Why this petition matters
Several years ago the NFL banned leaping over the line to block a field goal, punt, or extra point. Prior to banning this action, Daren Bates, of the Rams, was the first player to successfully leap over the line of scrimmage and block a kick attempt. There have been other players credited for accomplishing this feat well after Daren Bates and they have mistakenly been credited for being the reason for this leaping rule. Yes we are talking about Kam Chancellor and Jamie Collins. That's right. We aren't scared to name names. As initially mentioned on Bates' critically acclaimed and esteemed podcast Raw Room we are petitioning for the NFL to officially recognize the leaping penalty as "The Bates Rule". We believe in strength in numbers and that together we can convince the NFL and Roger Goodell to adjust the name of the rule to appropriately credit Daren Bates for eliminating this exciting, yet dangerous, play. The proper history being recognized will help prevent younger generations from attempting risky plays and potentially injuring themselves and others in the future. Think of the children.
