Spring Jam is a very highly anticipated and exciting event held yearly allowing University of Minnesota students and community members to enjoy music, food, activities, and more. Due to COVID-19, Spring Jam has been canceled for the past 2 years (2020 & 2021) stripping away the little joy and excitement that we students still had. After finding out that Spring Jam was going to return this year, we students, and the community, have been thrilled and eager to attend. One of the most exciting parts of Spring Jam is the live concerts. In previous years, performers have been top names and hot artists that were enjoyed by everyone. Unfortunately, our lineup this year was everything we didn't want. A survey was conducted across campus and over 90% of respondents do not know who ANY of the artists are. Less than 1% of respondents shared they know who all of the artists are. Considering Spring Jam has been canceled for the last 2 years, the unused budget can be allocated to this year's performers in order to pay more money for better performers. This petition has been created with hopes to change the 2022 Spring Jam lineup to an artist/artists that is/are more well known and popular across the student body. Thank you.
