People across the world have been watching in horror as Ukrainian civilians attempt to flee their homes amid a Russian assault. More than 1.5 million people have left Ukraine since 24 February, when Russian troops moved into their country.

Many people in the UK have a spare room and are willing to host a Ukrainian refugee family but there is no system in place to enable this to happen.

The Home Office confirmed that as of Monday 7th March only 300 visas had been granted from more than 17,000 applications.

I know the Government is concerned about UK security but these refugees are mainly women and children. The men and boys 18 and over have to stay and fight.

This is not good enough and puts the UK to shame.

Please sign my petition to ask the Government to set up a UK register of willing hosts of Ukrainian refugees and to cut the red tape to get  these refugees here as soon as possible.
