Do you feel like the dress code doesn’t allow you to express yourself? The dress code sexualizes young teenagers' body parts like shoulders and stomachs. Students shouldn't be reprimanded or judged because of the clothes they wear on their bodies. Young women shouldn’t have to think about whether or not their body is offending someone. They shouldn’t have to be burdened by the thoughts of, whether they are a distraction. We are not distractions, we are teenagers who would like our education not to be disrupted by our outfits. We should be able to wear crop tops, off-the-shoulder tops, ripped jeans, spaghetti strap tank tops, & have our bra straps showing. If a girl is comfortable with her own body, that is something we should be supporting. If she’s “too young to be wearing that”, then she’s too young to be sexualized. We need the dress code to change and we need your support to change it.
