The current Florida state bird is the northern mockingbird. This choice is not at all unique or special; it does not represent Florida after all. We need a better bird. I would accept the flamingo or anhinga as well, but I think the sandhill crane is a majestic bird which perfectly represents Florida. It is large, a little crazy, entirely unique, and it aggressively defends whatever it cares about.

If that's not Florida, I don't know what is.
