I have created this petition to have the dress code changed in Australia for some venues who discriminate against anyone wearing a traditional cultural body tattoo. I was invited to a anonymous friends 50th Birthday celebration down on the Gold Coast to one of the popular venues on the glitter strip. 3 weeks prior to me attending the event my friend said the venue doesn't allow any facial or hand tattoos as apart of their dress code. I wasn't happy about it considering what I was wearing is traditional to my culture and has special meaning. On the 27th May 2022 I contacted the venue to express my concerns and explain that my tattoo is cultural and if they will grant me access. The manager refused and said "no sorry you will not be allowed to enter as that's apart of our dress code policy no facial or hand tattoos". Please help me by signing this to change the dress code for any venues in Australia who discriminate in this dress code policy.
