change the bear creek dresscode
Why this petition matters
The new bearcreek dresscode has left students and teachers shocked by how strict and difficult it is. The new dresscode heavily focuses on the female students bodies and how they must cover up, the dresscode states that all shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers/dresses must be mid thigh length. how does this affect our taller students. how will they find appropriate clothing for school during the summer. do they risk their whole high school activites experience just because they werent able to dress accordingly. since i was a freshman the dresscode was never this strict. it has not impacted the class enviroment at all. this is how people dress in the real world. they have the option to dress how they please aslong as its appropriate for the enviroment. who ever dictated that your shoulders showing was not okay in the real world. how come the dresscode mainly affects the female body or students who chose to dress this way. what is it telling students to interpret from being told to cover up. does it make them believe they are being sexualized so they need to cover up. is it making them think their bodies had issues. what about the students that stimulate their confidence with their clothing. ontop of all these strict rules about what we cant and cannot wear, they did not even bother to spellcheck as they spelled beanies as "beenies." from our educators we would expect them to put the effort into atleast taking away our expression through clothing.
