So apparently the BOE has decided to require the rmhs community to be engaged in conversations to possibly rename the school due to the fact that Richard montgomery was a slave owner. If rmhs is being renamed, it should be renamed to Ronald McDonald high school. Not only was Ronald McDonald the mascot of McDonald's, the Ronald McDonald mascot is the face of the Ronald McDonald house charities, a non profit organization that helps house families with sick children near the hospital so that these families can be with their sick kid. The compassion and empathy Ronald McDonald represents are important values that a school should hold. Finally, we wouldn't have to change the initials rmhs.
