Due to bad weather families are not able to travel within Maldives in June/July. Public holidays are usually spent either outside of Maldives or in their native islands with their extended family. 

Changing the holidays back to December would benefit families thag cannot afford to go out of Maldives, and are looking to travel within Maldives.
