Phones can be a a tool used to help people find common interests through things like memes funny videos fandom sites. Unfortunetly students at RSHS have to hide their phones to show their friends a funny video due to the strict no phone policy, however some students will go on gaming consoles and face zero consequences.We would love to have these rules altered to make it allowed for students to have their phones out at breaks with the exception of being caught filming in school uniform.Majority of students aren't going to be looking at innoproprite content and also it isn't fair to students who might have to send important messages to family member or check their timetable because it is more convent to have a screen shot of it on your phone then relying on a piece of paper that is prone to being lost ripped and getting dirty.Students at RSHS also arent allowed to listen to music with out permission from the school principle which according to some students it can take up to 3 months just to get back an answer which most of the time is a big fat no.As a student at RSHS myself who experiences sensory issues with sound I find that this is cruel and unfair because in a way you are as a teacher actually as a person with a duty of care your judging someones coping mechanism. In fact I would personally compare thing to telling a child with hearing loss to take off their hearing aid.So if we can reach our goal and get these rules changed I firmly believe that we can and will be able to change these rules to make RSHS a safer and more positive environment.
