Change outdated Pennsylvania law

Change outdated Pennsylvania law
Why this petition matters

According to Pennsylvania Article D Chapter 43 - Title 18, "A person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree if he deals in humanity, by trading, bartering, buying, selling, or dealing in infant children". We as citizens of Pennsylvania need to repeal this absurd law. Not only is it hurting our most vulnerable members of society (baby salesmen), but it is also hurting our economy. Making the buying and selling of babies illegal isn't going to end the trade, it is just going to make it more dangerous for the people involved. Additionally, it is not (necessarily) illegal in other nearby states, which means that people are just going to take their baby business elsewhere, which can hurt our economy in the long run. Some people take issue with the morals of the baby trade, but they have to understand it is going to happen no matter what, and the only way to make it safer and more economically beneficial is by making it legal. This is an area where Pennsylvania is really behind the times. It is time to make a change. We need to repeal Chapter 43 - Title 18.
