Hi. My name is Ashley Carter, 17 years old with 'Treacher Collins Syndrome' from Taunton Somerset. I am a Anti Bullying Campaigner raising awareness. I was bullied as a child but has now appeared on shows including Loose Women, The Jeremy Kyle Show and ITV News West Country to share my story. I have been in Papers, Magazines, Social Media to share my story which went viral when i first started my Campaign which was all down to the Charity 'Fixers'. I'm a ambassador for 'Jeans for Genes, #IWILL Campaign and a Changing Faces Champion.

But then i was horrified by a message sent by a Channel 4 researcher for the show, which follows people with disabilities or learning difficulties on dates. The message read: "As an influential figure with a public presence, I'm sure your story will have reached out to others living with similar conditions, some of whom may be single. "I was hoping you might be able to help us spread the word that we are looking for people who want to find love and possibly take part in our new series of the show."

Channel 4 today said they'd only approached Ashley so he could spread the word about the hit show. Me and My Mum 'Louise' were shocked when they read the email and felt insulted.

I wrote a email back to them saying "Thank you for the invitation, however, your offer is precisely the reason why I am campaigning in the first place. You have proven that my work is not yet finished However, critics of the show say it perpetuates stereotypes about people living with disabilities and other conditions. "The show is not the platform that I'm looking to promote my campaign, "I fully understand that you're doing your job but we are doing ours as well. "We should not have named shows, if the show had a different name, I may reconsider the idea.

A spokesman for the show said: “When looking for contributors for this much-commended show the production team approach a wide number of individuals, experts and charities and nobody who is approached is assumed to be single or deemed to be ‘undateable’ but rather we hope they will help us spread the word reaching people who may like to take part."Those who have previously appeared have spoken overwhelmingly in support of the programme and have found it a really positive experience". Which now they are defending themselves!!

I really think that Us people with Syndromes/Condtions should not be Branded as 'Undateable' We are normal people living a normal life. We are dateable, even if we have Condtions/Syndromes, We are still dateable and have an amazing life. I think that the show can be really insulting and can affect people watching the show. I myself wouldnt want to go on TV to find love or someone who find love for me. I understand that they have a job to do but we are doing ours as well... Lets do something about this!!!

IM STILL FIGHTING TO RAISE AWARENESS ON BULLYING AND FACIAL DISFIGURMENTS!!!
