A few weeks ago I was in school and there was a girl in my group talking about her mom being a doctor. I said “ I wish you and your family stay healthy” and then she said this.....” thank you, Autumn! I wish people where nicer through” then I say “what do you mean?”. She says “ my mom was telling me that people were saying it’s Asian people fault because they made the coronavirus”. I was so confused and angry. I’m going to start with some background first.

Coronavirus identified in the Chinese city of Wuhan in 2019. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats, and bats. Rarely, animal coronaviruses can infect people and then spread.

CDC is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in China and which has now been detected in more than 100 locations internationally, including in the United States. It has been called “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” ( “COVID-19”).

That was some background, here is my issue. I think just because the coronavirus was identified China doesn’t mean that it’s the Asian people’s fault. I do not appreciate the people who say it’s Asian people's fault because we don’t know where the coronavirus came from all we know is that it was identified in a city in China. We need to stick together to help each other not to blame each other.
