Too many times a pic I’ve spent hours and days working on will only get 90-100 likes and little to no engagement when I’m used to be getting close to 500-600 likes on average, but ever since 2 months I’ve seen a massive switch and even some of the big names have seen a dramatic drop like figuremaniashow has 16.4K followers and he’s seen a significant drop in likes on his pictures due to the algorithm catering to videos instead of pictures. I want to see more people make more toy photography pages but they’re scared the algorithm will kill their page because they can’t complete with the people who do videos or post every day.

We need to have the algorithm different from Facebooks, so seeing less videos being pushed and more pictures!! For instance a year or 2 ago pictures would be being pushed and now all I see are videos like I can’t go 3-4 pics down or scroll through someone’s story without Instagram suggesting a video for me to watch it’s really annoying and disheartening to see how some creators have since stopped taking pics because of this. Instagram/Facebooks needs to look over their algorithms and change it so we don’t have dead photography pages.

If we are able to change this algorithm system to give a chance to the people on Instagram who created toy photography, I see Instagram going back to its roots and thriving, but if this algorithm doesn’t change then what will most likely happen is you’ll see all those people going to Twitter or even making an app that allows creators to share their art and have it be shown instead of hidden behind this current algorithm system.
