High School is to prepare you for the next step in a young adult’s future, to get you ready for college.  High school is tough already on students without the policies and codes that are put on them.   And I’m not here to say that all are bad, but…..   hair? Mustaches?  Come on!   And the dress code hasn’t changed since I was in high school.   Girls are wearing running shorts and yoga pants without long shirts all day outside of school and around boys, and somehow it’s not interfering then.   Girls wear sun dresses and spaghetti straps at church, it’s not interfering there.   We are putting too much into these types of rules.   Teachers are calling kids out and disrupting class for the “dress code” than the kids actual outfits.   I think it’s time the dress code became a little more lenient.  I’m not at all talking about doing away with it but definitely amend to give these kids some room to worry about their school work vs being sent home because their shorts are above their fingertips or a boys hair goes past their collars.    If you feel the same way.
