Monica Ferra started this petition to Change.com and

As part of the current bushfire crisis. Human, flora and fauna losses,  Australia Fireworks should be banned. Millions of dollars are  wasted in illuminating the skies. We already have enough fires. The money should be used to help the environment from this catastrophic and traumatic event. As well as helping volunteers,  firefighters, families, animal rescuers and the whole environment.

Australia day could be celebrated with picnics and concerts and all the money to be donated to the important cause that's affecting the population.

This should be the real Australia day showing that the communities are caring and compassionate.  To really give a fair go!

We also need to consider climate change and the government to take action as soon as possible. These bushfires are exacerbating, taking Australian lives, animals and properties at risk. This spreading  trauma needs to stop.

More and more damage is being created. This is a humanitarian crisis. However, the government is not taking enough responsibility on this issue.

Bushfires are causing trauma, grief and loss. We don't need to increase the number of survivors suffering. We need to take responsibility for what Australia Day really mean. There's no need to show this with Fireworks.

Please help me to bring awareness and take action by sharing. Thank you
