Students in the computer science program at Champlain College St-Lambert, would like to continue school online until February 25th, 2022. This is due to the fact that our semester ends that Friday and our internship begins the following Monday. We currently have an immense workload and returning to school will greatly increase our risk of catching COVID-19. This is incredibly stressful for us because this would hinder our progress on our current workload that many of us are already behind on. Furthermore, there is also a risk of getting COVID-19 just before our internship begins. As soon to be Computer Science graduates, we are trying to build our careers and start this process off on the right foot. That means, finishing our final courses without the stress of being out of commission for a few days due to COVID-19 as well as, not being absent the first few days of the internship because we got COVID-19. It is also very important to note that there are some students in the program with autoimmune diseases which makes COVID-19 much deadlier for those students. Please hear our concerns. This is an incredibly stressful time for all of us students in the Computer Science program and allowing us to continue school online until the 25th of February would be unimaginably helpful.
