As is clear from countless firsthand testimonies, Mary Schenk writes articles which victimize innocent citizens of Champaign, Urbana, and surrounding communities with no regard for the very real consequences they will cause for the citizens. People become guilty in the court of public opinion, before ever having a chance to defend themselves. This is an every day occurence for Mary, and it's well beyond time for her to hang it up.

My loved one received death threats in the comments section of her article on NG's facebook page, which went unmoderated for months. He had to leave a great job, move to a new address, and eventually move out of the state due to debilitating PTSD caused in large part by Mary's decision to write about him as though he was guilty, even in the very article regarding his exoneration. 

Mary needs to retire, because she has traumatized enough innocent people with her sensational headlines and clickbait garbage. The News Gazette ought to be ashamed of her. Stop letting her print lies! Do not let her do this to anyone else, I urge you. My family has been destroyed, and Mary Schenk helped destroy it. Send her packing.
